ADOPTION ATTORNEY
Terri H. Odom
Terri Hoover Odom is a wife and mother of four children, step-mom to four more children, and grandmother to seven! She lives in West Monroe with her husband, Richmond. Mrs. Terri earned her Juris Doctor in 1985 from Loyola University in New Orleans. Since 1989, Mrs. Terri has completed hundreds and hundreds of adoptions. During her years of practice, she has seen first hand the sorrows of infertility and the joys of adoption: from helping birth parents in the delivery room, caring for a new born, or comforting adoptive parents during the waiting period. She believes that choosing adoption is one of the most loving gifts a birth mother can give her baby. Her 30+ years of experience and practice brings comfort to birth parents and adoptive couples alike as the adoption process can be filled with uncertainty.
Professionally, Mrs. Terri has been an Adoption Section member of the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys, formerly known as the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, since 1998. The Academy is an association dedicated to the highest standards of practice in the field of adoption law.

Emily M. Saska
Emily Saska is Mrs. Terri’s daughter and associate. Mrs. Emily lives in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana with her husband, Jesse, and toddler, Henry. Mrs. Emily earned her Juris Doctor in 2014 from Loyola Law School in New Orleans. Mrs. Emily grew up watching her mother practice adoption law and is delighted to have joined her in practice. While in law school Mrs. Emily clerked for an adoption attorney in New Orleans to continue to gather experience in this niche area of the law. Now settled in Baton Rouge and running the Baton Rouge office location, Mrs. Emily is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, BRBA Family Law Section, and BRBA Young Lawyers Section. Mrs. Emily was extended membership into the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys in January of 2020. She and Mrs. Terri are now both active Adoption Section members of the Academy.

Jackie Scott
Jackie Scott has been working with Mrs. Terri since June of 2002. She has a passion for adoption and is vital to our office. In November of 2014 Ms. Jackie received the Individual Adoption Advocate Award from the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. She was recognized by the State of Louisiana for her diligent work in Mrs. Terri's law office, which ensures that the adoption process runs smoothly for adoptive families. Ms. Jackie supports our adoption practice as a case manager and her 18+years of experience gives her the insight to comfort and encourage birth parents and adoptive couples alike. Ms. Jackie's daughter, Faith Batterton, works part-time at our office while she attends college in Monroe, LA
